These cute psychedelic mushrooms are worked bottom up in joined rounds for the stipe and in continuous rounds for the cap and underside. Only basic stitch types are required, so it’s a great project for beginners. Ensure you maintain tension and crochet relatively tight (i.e. amigurumi).

Three variations of Fly Agaric mushrooms with slight differences in stipe, cap and size are provided. After all, mushrooms come in all funky shapes and sizes in nature! The large mushroom pattern also includes instructions to thread gills on the underside.

This might come as a surprise to you all, but I’m actually a neuroscientist and I did my PhD on the psychological and neural effects of psilocybin (the psychedelic compound found in so called “magic mushrooms”, like this one we are crocheting today) and other psychedelic drugs in humans.
- Hence my infatuation with designing and crocheting mushrooms :)

• Red Heart Super Saver Yarn: 1x ball cherry red + 1x ball soft white
• Scissors
• Stitch marker or alternative (i.e. safety pin)
