Puff Love Headscarf
The Puff Love Headscarf was born out of an itch to crochet something engaging, but simple….and a new haircut! I tried so many different motifs and I finally settled on this darling little combination of puff stitches and single crochets worked on the bias. The pattern has just enough interest to keep you wanting to work one more row, but it’s an easily memorizable repeat that will let you relax into your stitching.
Once you start, you won’t want to stop crocheting, and you’ll have a new headscarf before you know it!
Materials
Approximately 114 yds / 104 m (or more if you want a longer scarf) DK weight yarn or any yarn that creates a fabric you like Sample used Koigu Kersti Merino Crepe in 1503
4.0 mm (G) crochet hook (or hook size required to meet gauge)
Darning needle
Gauge
Gauge is not crucial for this project, although it can be important to make sure you have enough yarn.
For the sample, 3 repeats of pattern Rows 2 and 3 measured 2” / 5 cm x 2” / 5 cm after blocking
Because the headscarf is such a small project, this is a great opportunity to skip a gauge swatch and start the project right away! If you are concerned about yardage or how the yarn you are using will perform after blocking, you could create a small swatch and block it. Otherwise, if you work a few inches and like the way things are going, just keep crocheting until your scarf reaches your desired length!
Sizing
2” / 5 cm x 44” /110 cm, adjustable to your preferences.
