Stitches used: magic circle, puff stitch, single crochet, crab stitch

This basket is the first in a spa countertop basket trio. I was inspired to make the set after I made a beautiful puff stitch circle and fell in love with the concept. The puff stitch circle forms the base here.

This pattern is worked with double-strands of yarn, so I recommend you grab two skeins so you can work from both simultaneously. For this pattern, “large” is a relative term. It refers to the largest in diameter of the trio of baskets (the one holding cotton balls in the photo).

I provide instructions for magic circle, puff stitch, and crab stitch, but prior experience with those stitches will work in your favor.

This pattern is written using standard U.S. crochet terms.

MATERIALS:
Lion Brand 24/7 cotton yarn (recommended; samples in pictures were made in “taupe”) – 2 skeins; this pattern uses less than 2 skeins of yarn (probably closer to one skein), but you will find it easier if you can just pull from two strands simultaneously in order to work the required double strands.
