A flower forms the crown, incorporating eyelets and twisted stitches and is emphasized by diamonds of twisted stitches. The twisted ribbing finishes the hat smoothly. Like a doily, the hat is started from the center out. The shaping of the flower and the diamonds form the beret and make it look like one piece.
