Pumice Cap is a lightweight beanie with a helmety shape!

It uses the unique construction you’ve seen in Felsic and Mafic, but this time, that shaping is paired with neat simple stitch patterns which pull the shape into one that’s higher in front while maintaining deeper coverage in the back and at the ears.

The .PDF currently has two sizes; I think it will be extra cute on a baby, since it’s light and soft.

Gauge:
Gauge is 27 sts and 49 rows over 4”/10cm, in blocked garter stitch, worked flat. This gauge is taken from the initial garter stitch tab. Please be sure to check your gauge.

Materials:
—90-160 yards or under 1 skein of Uschitita Merino Singles, Cascade Heritage Wave, or a similar yarn, any color (shown in Uschitita Merino Singles in Grounded, adult sample, or Cascade Color No. 504).
—1 16” or 24” circular needle in US3/3.25mm, or size needed for gauge
—Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Measurements:
The large version is about 7.5“/19cm tall and 9.5“/24cm wide, and should fit 21-22.5”/53-57cm head circumferences. The smaller version is about 5.5“/14cm tall and 6.5“/17cm across the hem, and should fit 15”/38cm head circumference. This is a very light hat, perfect for a tiny baby—and it’s reversible, so the faux seams won’t bother said hypothetical tiny baby.
