Pumpkin
Pumpkins are now a common symbol of Halloween; being carved into lanterns called “Jack-O’-Lanterns”. Throughout Britain and Ireland carving lanterns from vegetables, usually the turnip or swede, was an old tradition at Halloween however immigrants to North America had easy access to the native pumpkin which was bigger and easier to carve.
This pattern is worked in the round and I use abbreviations according to US crochet language. I can provide the pattern in UK crochet language if preferred, please just contact me.
The finished pumpkin is approximately 2.5” (6cm) in diameter and 2” (5cm) in height.
Tools Needed:
US size E (3.5mm) crochet hook
scissors
yarn needle
Yarn Needed:
DK acrylic yarn in orange and olive green.
Other Materials Needed:
polyester/toy stuffing
