Pumpkin Amigurumi
My Pumpkin Dice Bags got so much love that I had to make a plush version! These babies make such beautiful home decor in solid yarn, variegated, worsted or blanket yarn. If you’re already familiar with front post and pack post HDC, this pattern will be a breeze! but of course if you get stuck at any point you should feel free to reach out to me.
-Pattern is written using US terminology
-The large pumpkin measures 12’ wide and 11’ tall- when completed it weighs nearly 2.5 pounds!
-The small pumpkin measures 8’wide and 6’ tall
Materials:
For large:
-400 yards of Bernat Blanket Yarn: Pumpkin color and a bit of brown for the stalk rounds
- A bit of green worsted weight yarn and a 4mm hook (optional, for green spirals at the top)
- 7mm hook
- Polyfil
- Tapestry Needle to weave in ends
For small:
- 220 yards of worsted weight yarn: Pumpkin color, a bit of brown for the stalk rounds and a bit of green for the spirals (optional)
- 4mm hook
- Polyfil
- Tapestry needle to weave ends
Special Stitches:
-BPHDC: Back Post Half Double Crochet.
-FPHDC: Front Post Half Double Crochet.
-FPHDCINC: 2 FPHDC in the same stitch.
-FPHDCDEC: HDC decrease/ HDC 2 together around the posts of the indicated stitches from front to back.
-BPHDCDEC: HDC decrease/ HDC 2 together around the posts of the indicated stitches from back to front.
-Standing FPHDC: Beginning with just a slip knot on your hook, join new yarn with a FPHDC without joining/ chaining one. You can substitute your standard joining method if needed.
