Pumpkin Bucket Hat
The Pumpkin Bucket Hat is an adorable bucket hat with a small
leaf and curly vines on top that will look so good during fall - wear
it at the pumpkin patch or while drinking your PSLs! You could
even make different colours of pumpkins, such as a yellow or
green pumpkin with green vines for an “underripe” look instead of
the classic bright orange pumpkin with brown vines.
This pattern is worked top down - beginning with a magic circle,
you crochet the top of the hat, then the side walls, then the brim.
The leaf, stem, and vines are crocheted separately and then
attached to the completed body of the hat.
There are two options for the brim - instructions are included
for a straighter brim that only has a very subtle wave to it, and
for a wavier brim that will have a more obvious ruffle effect. This
way you can customize the look of your hat and make multiple
versions! Sample shown with straighter brim option.
In the appendix, you’ll find notes on adjusting the size of the hat
and links to tutorials for any techniques you may be unfamiliar
with, including the magic circle technique and my preferred
method of creating invisible joins when crocheting in the round.
This pattern is written in AMERICAN crochet terminology.
Beginner friendly stitches are used but pattern does not include instructions on how to do every individual stitch.
