This Pumpkin Hat is created by crocheting a ribbed rectangle with half double crochet and back loop half double crochet stitches, and seamed together. The top edge is gathered and the stem, crocheted from a contrasting color yarn, is attached with a tapestry needle.
The Pumpkin hat can be crocheted in a variety of colors and contrasting stem combinations, using any medium weight (4) yarn.
For the sample hats I like Red Heart with Love yarn. One skein (370 yards) will make 2-4 hats depending on size.
The Pumpkin Hat directions include the following sizes: toddler age 1-3, child age 4-12, teen age 12-18 and adult age 18 + sizes.
The hat can be crocheted with or with out the cuff.

This hat is designed to look like an actual pumpkin and can be worn by girls and boys.

The pattern includes complete written directions, a size chart, and plenty of how-to photos. After purchase it is best to print the directions in color to note detailed instructions.
