Autumn is my favourite season of the year - so many beautiful colours in nature, and of course pumpkin spice lattes in the coffee shops!
The socks are a shortie design with an easy beginner-friendly woven cable down the middle, they use less yarn and perfect for short boots and jeans for autumn walks!
I’ve included both a chart and written instructions for the cable section.
You will need:
• Approx 70g of sock/4 ply yarn (approx 280m/306yds) - I used a sock set from Giddy Yarns which was 50g of the main colour and 20g of the contrast colour for knitting the heels and toes
• 2.5mm short (23cm or 30cm) circular knitting needles - or your preference of double-pointed needles or long circular needle for magic loop
• 2.5mm double pointed needles for working the heel flap and heel turn
• Stitch markers to mark the end of rounds (+ middle of rounds for gusset decreases, chart, and toe decreases)
• Cable needle
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
• Sock blockers (optional)
Gauge: not critical for this pattern as you try the sock on for size as you go, but please be aware that if you have a very tight or loose tension it will change the amount of yarn you will use and the ‘slouchiness’ of the sock.
