Pumpkin Spice Pillow
Something about temperatures dropping, sunsets coming a little earlier, and football three days a week always calls me back to chunky cable knits. This cozy pillow cover has a monster 20-stitch cable going right down the middle against a nubby, textured background of garter stitch. In a pumpkin-y gold rustic wool yarn, it is quintessentially fall.
This pillow has an envelop back with ribbing to keep it tight and buttonholes for a little added flair. It is knit from end to end in one piece and then seamed up the sides after blocking. This makes it easily adjustable to any length pillow, from a small 12x12 square to a long and thin lumbar pillow. The pillow shown is a 12x16 pillow.
You will need the following:
-300 yards (1 skein of the listed yarn) of bulky-weight wool
-12x16 (or length of your choice) pillow form
-Cable needle (even if you don’t normally use a cable needle (I don’t!), there are enough stitches moving around that I found using a size 10 DPN to be VERY helpful in keeping everything in line.
-Tapestry needle
-Button (if so desired)
