This is a top-down crochet hat in all sizes. It uses dk weight yarn, and features a special stitch, the pumpkin stitch, which is my own invention. The stitch is much quicker than embroidering all the pumpkins onto a plain hat.

Suggested hook size: 4mm, 3.5 mm for ribbing.

Yarn weight: dk/8-ply/light worsted.

Suggested yarn: any warm dk yarn will do. Main colour = orange, contrast colour = cream. A scrap of green yarn will be needed for the pumpkin stems.

Also needed:
Tapestry needle, embroidery scissors for sewing in ends.

To fit head circumference:*

Gauge: 16 stitches and 9 rows of double crochet (dc) worked in the round = 10 x 10 cm.
Use whichever hook size meets the gauge.

Estimated Yardage:
Main colour = 90/100/110(125/140/160) m or 100/110/121(138/154/176)yards.
Contrast colour = 20/22/24(27/30/36) m or 22/24/27(30/33/40) yards.
