Fair Isle stranded colorwork using split single crochet, aka waistcoat stitch, creates a knit look. The mittens are entirely crocheted. The pattern includes three crochet cuff options as well as one knitted cuff option, because it isn’t confusing enough that the fair isle crochet looks knitted. :P

The example mittens show an optional crocheted Latvian Braid.

These mittens come in one medium size, but other sizes can be created by using a smaller or larger hook and/or yarn.

YARN:
Kim Dyes Yarn
Sugarcookies Sock

Main color - approximately 250 yds
Contrast color - approximately 80 yds
This includes about 20% overage in case different cuff options are used.

GAUGE:
1” x 1” - 6 split single crochet stitches by 8 rows worked in the round
There is some wiggle room in the gauge. If your gauge gives 6-7 rows, that is okay, too.
