Punatulkku on tonttuhatun mallinen pipo, jonka voi tietenkin kuitenkin neuloa käytettäväksi muulloinkin kuin jouluisin. Siinä on kaksinkerroin taitettu joustinreunus, jotta korvat ja otsa pysyvät lämpiminä kylmilläkin säillä. Muu osa piposta on yksinkertaista pintaneuletta. Halutessasi voit lisätä myös tupsun tai kulkusen. Huomaa kuitenkin, että langanmenekkiarvio tässä ohjeessa ei sisällä tupsuun tarvittavaa lankamäärää!

Koot:
Tässä ohjeessa on 9 kokoa: 1/2/3 (4/5/6) 7/8/9, jotka on suunniteltu sopimaan 35/38,5/42 (45,5/49/52,5) 56/59,5/63 cm päänympäryksille. Valitse koko, joka on lähinnä pään ympärysmittaa. Huomaa, että pipon ympärysmitta on jonkin verran pienempi kuin päänympäryksen, jotta se istuisi päähän kunnolla.

Tarvitset:

• Fingering-vahvuista lankaa (noin 400 m/100 g) yhteensä noin 130/140/170 (200/230/270) 300/340/380 m.
• Koon 2,5 mm pyöröpuikot, tai puikot, joilla saavutat oikean neuletiheyden (neulomalla Suoran osuuden pintaneuletta): 31 s/52 krs/10 cm, ja ohuemmat pyöröpuikot, joilla on helppo poimia silmukat työn luontireunasta kaksinkertaisen reunuksen kiinnittämistä varten.

Punatulkku (Finnish for bullfinch) is a very easy head wear with ribbed rim and textured body. If you want to, you can add a pompom to the tip of this hat, or why not even a jingle bell! Please note that the yardage given does not include yarn for pom pom, though. The rim is folded double so it will protect the ears and forehead from cold weather very efficiently.

Sizing:
This pattern includes 9 sizes: 1/2/3 (4/5/6) 7/8/9 to fit 13.8/15.2/16.5 (17.9/19.3/20.7) 22/23.4/24.8 in/35/38,5/42 (45,5/49/52,5) 56/59,5/63 cm head circumferences. Choose the size that is closest to the head circumference. Note that I’ve designed some negative ease to the hat in order to fit the head snuggly!

You’ll need:

• Fingering weight yarn (about 440 yd/3.5 oz, 400 m/100 g) about 142/153/186 (219/252/295) 328/372/416 yd 130/140/170 (200/230/270) 300/340/380 m.

• Size 1.5 (2.5 mm) circular needles or the size needles you reach the right gauge (in textured pattern of Body) of 31 stitches/52 rounds per 4 inches (10 cm) with, and smaller size circular needles for attaching the cast on edge to the live stitches after ribbing.

• 8 stitch markers, measuring tape and tapestry needle
