Our pets deserve handknits!

Here is a simple ombre blanket, but with lots of texture for your favorite pet…..puppy or kitten….dog or cat…..or hey, baby blanket!

Holding two strands together, it is super easy to create the ombre effect, get great nubby texture, and mix yarns from your stash. Two strands of aran weight yarn makes a nice thick blanket for keeping warm.

Using a washable yarn is important! Blanket can be scaled up if you have a large dog, just remember to purchase more yarn or raid your stash. Increase the size by casting on additional stitches, making wider stripes, or additional colors/stripes. You may want to go up a needle size to get gauge…..I am a loose knitter. The modified linen stitch is a 4 row repeat….very easy to keep track of while knitting. Great for binge watching the latest mystery epic.
