Purim
Purim is a festival of costumes, cookies and cheer. This afghan block captures that in depicting a Ra’ashan - a noisemaker - which we spin passionately every time the evil Haman is mentioned in the Scroll of Esther. It is a perfect addition to the kitchen when making delicious Hamantaschen cookies and an ideal component of a scarf or blanket.
The block is both part of my #SmichatChagim throw of Jewish festivals, and part of an emerging #InterfaithBlanket I am making, with blocks demonstrating holidays from different religions. Join this celebration of celebrations by posting pictures of your finished square!
The 5 Page PDF Pattern Includes:

Note on yarn: This pattern is a great stash-buster. You will need around 35g/1.5 ounces or 55m/180 yards of two differently coloured yarns of your choice. I recommend Worsted Weight yarn – check what feels nicest on your fingers and allows you to achieve the recommended gauge.
The pattern has been designed professionally.
