Purl Pop Socks is an easy yet addictive pattern, accessible for beginners and advanced sock knitters alike.

The texture of this sock is interesting enough you’ll want to keep knitting another row, and another one, and another one… yet simple enough that it can easily be worked while watching TV (or while on Zoom call with your boss if you’re feeling courageous).

The socks are knitted cuff down using a light fingering weight (UK 4ply weight) yarn, and feature a rounded toe and short row heel.

The pattern includes a heel depth alteration for knitters who have a larger heel diagonal measurement relative to the rest of their foot.
There’s guidance to help each knitter determine whether the alteration is necessary, based on the knitter’s personal measurements.

Exact yarn usage is dependent on each knitter’s personal gauge and measurements (e.g. foot length, sock length preference). Above is a conservative estimate based on yarn requirements for the larger sizes. Smaller sizes may require less yarn.

Sizing

Available are sizes 1(2;3)(4;5) with finished/actual circumference of 14cm(16cm;18cm)(20cm;22cm) or 5 ½”(6 ¾”;7 ⅛”)(7 ⅞”;8 ⅝”).

Select a size with an actual circumference 20% smaller than the circumference of your foot (measured around the ball of the foot).

Gauge

40sts, 55rnds = 10cm (4”) in stockinette st worked in the round, using 2.25mm (US1) needles.
