The Purple Haze Hat is so named for the gorgeous Malabrigo yarn colorway used; it’s a simple cable pattern with easy-to-memorize repeats and a snug, tight fit, making it perfect for the winter. A Lion Brand pom pom was chosen for this pattern, but it would look just as cute with a standard yarn pom pom or no pom pom at all.

The fit might be a little tight on some due to the cables, but it fits an average-sized woman’s head snugly; for a larger hat, or a looser fit, adding one or two cable repeats (depending on head size) should do the trick.

Less than one skein of Malabrigo Merino Worsted yarn should do the trick!
