Purple Spider Girls' Sweater
- This pattern is rather easy, both technically and conceptually. Its “unfinished” look is actually what I particularly love about this item: not only does it make the sweater easily adjustable, but it gives kids the greatest freedom of movement, while keeping them warm. And it is easier for you to crochet, not having to worry about sleeves, decreases, measurements, etc.
- Thanks to its open sides and loose fit, this item is made to last for many years.
This pattern is in ENGLISH and uses standard US crochet terminology and abbreviations. It contains a link to a free YouTube video explaining the technique.
FINISHED SIZE: the item pictured is made to fit a girl of 5-10 yrs. The front side measures 39 cm (15,3”) from top to bottom, the backside 48 cm (18,9”); the cowl part measures 27 cm (10,6”) unrolled.
YARN: about 435 g (15,3 oz) / 435 mt. (476 yds) of 14 ply super bulky wool yarn to be worked with the given hook size, or as much yarn as necessary for a different size. I used DROPS “Eskimo” clr code Orchidea 04 and “Eskimo Print” clr code 42 .
GAUGE: 11 sts x 15 rows / 10x10 cm (4”x4”).
HOOKS: 7 mm hook (2 – L11).
NOTIONS: Crochet basic stitches, working in rows, joining. Hdc ribbed stitch. The Spider stitch is explained in this pattern.
