Purple Tulip Shawlette
Please note that on subsequent even, Right Side Rows beyond Row 1, knit to the last 4 stitches, yo, then k2tog twice.
The Purple Tulip Shawl is a great way to use up just 400 yards of worsted weight yarn. The pattern is specifically written for worsted weight yarn, and any other lighter weight yarn will most likely not yield a large enough piece. Knit on the bias sideways, Purple Tulip is an asymmetrical triangle that starts on one side with 7 stitches and lots of easy garter stitch. A large cable section made up of what looks like hanging tulips finishes off the shawl. It is reversible as the cables on the opposite side form a pleasing pattern as well. The last cable section is intentionally left uncrossed so that the border naturally forms soft waves on the longest side of the triangle. Once blocked, the shawlette is 4 foot 6 inches in length, and is 18 inches at its deepest center point. Full written instructions for the cable section with row counts and a chart as well as video help links are included in the pattern.
