Taking advantage of gradient yarn, the Puschkinia socks start crisp and bold at the cuff, with a sweet floral motif. As the stripe pattern is worked to the toe, the colors begin to merge together giving the socks a soft faded feel like a pair of your favorite jeans.

The Puschkinia socks are designed using a single gradient colorway of KnitCircus Thrilling Yarn. The sample socks were knit in the Pigeon colorway, but this pattern would also look great in Fashion Week -- the hot pink to orange colorway shown, or Emerald City -- the teal to green colorway shown.

Knitcircus sells their Matching Socks gradient yarn in sets of two cakes. Puschkinia requires one set of two cakes. It is important to have two 50g gradient cakes to create the fading effect. On larger cakes, the color shift is too gradual. This pattern can be worked more boldly using two different gradient colorways. It will also work using two solid colors.

Finished Measurements: 6.5, 7.5, 8.5” circumference at foot and leg, length customizable. Socks should be worn with negative ease, so choose a size that is smaller than your actual measurement. Note that the largest sizes may require two sets of Thrilling.
