I’m not saying that you should read this quote to your deeply religious aunt over Christmas dinner, but I like Barbara Walker’s take on the pleasure of Christmas and how it can extend to everyone, even if your relationship with religion is confusing, multi-faceted, or just plain complicated. I also think that this particular ornament doesn’t have to be tied to Christmas. Use it anywhere (and anytime) you need a little dazzle! A person with a certain sense of humor might get a kick out of making these Pussy Hat-themed holiday ornaments as gifts for “Don’t You Know There’s a War on Christmas” relatives.

The yarn for this project is a luxurious hand-dyed yarn by ModeKnit Yarn, which is the result of a lot of hard work and inspiring color choices by Annie Modesitt and Kathleen Pascuzzi. I can also highly recommend it for actual socks. Their bamboo and nylon content have kept the pair of socks I made from their yarn strong and beautiful through four Minnesota winters!
