Put A Little Love In Your Heart Socks
This pattern launched at Knit City Toronto on May 18, 2024. I am so happy to be collaborating with Gingersnap yarns again.
The amazing rainbow micro 10g sets just screamed for some stripes and colourwork. The colourwork hearts are easy to knit and I only caught the floats on two of the rounds. I wove the ends in as I went on the stripes but did the hearts after I finished the sock to keep the tension loose enough.
The sock comes in 3 sizes and is knit from the top down with a heel flap and traditional gusset. I finished it with my version of a rounded toe.
Instructions are written and the colourwork is only charted.
The pattern looks great on lots of different types of yarn…Give it a try! Check out my tester’s project pages for inspiration because they got very creative using self-striping yarn and scrap yarns.
I used one skein of fingering weight main colour yarn and 6 micro minis. My sample pair used 53g of the MC and 5-6g of each of the contrast colours.
Huge thanks to my test knitters Heather J, Rochelle, Leanne, Jenn, Darlene, Penny, Alice and Heather E for their feedback, their speed and beautiful socks.
