A top-down, V-neck raglan sweater, knit seamlessly in Worsted-weight cotton yarn, starting with back neck and increasing to chest size. Then stitches for sleeves are placed on hold, and sweater is worked in the round down to hem, with optional hip shaping.
Size is given for 37.5 in, 42.5, 47.5, 52.5, 57.5, 62.5 and 67.5 inch finished sweater at chest, with gauge of 4/inch listed…. Choose a size which is comfortable for you, and note that this yarn is stretchy and molds easily to the body. Working top-down, you can try it on as you go for best fit. I’ve made samples in Juniper Moon Cumulus, which is a fun and easy to knit cotton which gives great stitch definition in this garter-and-stockinette textured pattern. I don’t know how it would flow in a springy wool, as the garter stitch pattern may make the texture more extreme, but might be amusing to try!
For longer sleeves, or longer length, more yarn would be always be handy.
Errata: Note a typo in June 28 version ; Chart 1 goes only to row 20, not row 22! This is fixed in second version of pattern. Sorry for the confusion!
