Qatze
This pattern is a tribute to Queenie, who crossed the rainbow bridge. If you make a Qatze, please post a picture using the following hashtag: #GNUQueenie
To crochet this rainbow-kitty you need to know how to single crochet, increase, decrease and work with a magic ring (or any other way of starting an amigurumi).
For the eyes, you can either use safety eyes, glass eyes or embroidered eyes. For children under the age of 3, I recommend embroidering the eye or sewing on embroidered eyes. Please don’t use safety eyes for children under the age of 3 because of choking hazards.
The pattern works up in rounds and you have free choice of colours, yarn and with that, the finished size.
With an Aran weight yarn, she’ll turn out standing 50 cm tall.
For this pattern you need:
- yarn in colours of your choice (1 - 30 colours )
- crochet hook, that works with your yarn
- embroidery floss
- fibre fill or any other kind of stuffing
- scissors
- safety eyes, cat eyes, glass eyes, embroidered eyes
- tapestry needle
- pipe cleaner (and optional wire for neck)
I used 11 different colours of cotton yarn (Aran weight) and needed less than half a skein per colour. It is totally up to you, how many colours you incorporate and when you make the colour-changes.
