QK – as in quick knit. This is a pattern written for those last-minute knits that tend to prevail among the holidays. I love the squishiness and snuggly softness of the Rasta yarn. It makes for a warm and comfy cowl!

QK Cowl is a quick-knit cowl that is worked with a simple combination of knit and purl with a few increases and decreases thrown in. It works up very quickly and makes for a great last-minute gift. The Malabrigo Rasta is soft and snuggly yet gives good stitch definition. Don’t have any super bulky in your stash?? You can also work the cowl using 90 yards each of two heavy-worsted/aran weight yarns held together.

Yarn
1 skein of Malabrigo Rasta (90 yds/150 g, 100% merino) in Teal Feather
OR
One 90-yard skein of super bulky weight yarn

Recommended Needle Size
US 15 (10 mm) needles
US 17 (12.75 mm) needles
Or size needed to attain proper gauge

Notions
Four 1 3/8-inch buttons
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge
10 sts = 4 inches in k1, p1, k1, p2 pattern repeat on US 15

Finished Measurements
Approximately 22” in length by 10½” in width after blocking
