yarn for OPTIONAL top hat: BLACK, and COLOR FOR BAND ON HAT
hook size to match yarn weight
stitch marker
poly-fil for stuffing
scissors
yarn needle
pins to hold while attaching pieces
safety eyes

abbreviations:
mr ~ magic ring
ch ~ chain
BLO ~ back loop only
FLO ~ front loop only
sc ` single crochet dc ~ double crochet hdc ~ half double crochet hdc inc ~ half double crochet increase bbl ~ bobble stitch (link provided) *5 dc bbl* ss ~ slip stitch inc ~ increase dec ~ decrease rpt ~ repeat rnd ~ round sk ~ skip F/O ~ fasten off

notes:

1. this pattern is worked in continuous rounds & US terms
2. I use the yarn over technique, using a different way may throw sts off
3. I use the invisible decrease technique
4. I used “Red Heart” yarn for all colors
5. I used a size “G” hook
6. I used 14mm eyes
