Quadrophenia
Knitting and designing blankets is my absolute favourite thing to do. This beautiful blanket emerged from that passion.
I’ve long wanted to design a blanket that maximised the use of a set of 20g mini skeins. The joy of not having to wonder what to do with all of those tiny balls of leftovers !!
I’ve always loved triangles, so I’ve melded together my love of this shape with the pleasure of knitting through a huge pile of gorgeous mini skeins.
You will need 24 x 20g (85 m) of fingering weight yarn.
Blanket Details
The blanket is a modular construction, knitted in 4 triangle shaped pieces and then seamed together.
To enable you to maximise your yarn, the use of a pocket digital scale will be useful.
The pattern includes video tutorials for the seaming and finishing of the blanket.
Size
The sample blanket measures 42 inches square (107 cm). You could increase the size by using more mini skeins.
I find it easier to count ridges when working garter stitch. Each ridge is actually 2 rows of knitting.
Yarn
The pattern requires 24 x 20g (85 m) of fingering weight yarn. This makes it perfect for a yarn advent calendar. You could also use mini skeins from your stash, or leftovers from other projects.
