NOTES
-
The naming of Quarks began when, in 1964, Murray Gell-Mann and George Zweig suggested that hundreds of the particles known at the time could be explained as combinations of just three fundamental particles. Gell-Mann chose the name “quarks,” pronounced “kworks,” for these three particles, a made-up english word used by James Joyce in the novel Finnegan’s Wake.
-
These mittens feature the lines of poetry referring to Quarks from the novel, and a traditional Gotland motif all around.
This pattern has been redesigned as of November 2016. If you would like the original pattern with more lines of text, PM me and I will send it to you.
Thanks a billion to my awesome pattern tester Rashiopoulo
