She’s all grown up and ready to fly! Long-awaited and often requested, the Queen Bee is finally yours to knit.

Instructions show you how to make it short and sassy, or lengthen to a tunic. Tied with a velvet ribbon or decked out with buttons or clasps, the Queen is as elegant or as whimsical as you care to make her. Release your inner royalty with this honey of a knit.

Six sizes, in Blue Moon Fiber Arts BFL Sport. Worked in the round with steeks. Sleeves worked two at a time with steeks between (see Mary’s conjoined sleeve tutorial HERE and HERE). Written instructions with full-color charts and photos.

NOTE: Blue Moon Fiber Arts has agreed to resume production of the “Chestnutty” colorway in BFL Sport just to satisfy demand for this pattern. It was originally discontinued due to pronounced color striation, which happens to be the very characteristic the designer loved it for. If you choose to use Chestnutty, remember that dye irregularities enhance stranded colorwork rather than detracting, as they might in solid-color knitting.

Yarn Requirements:

Blue Moon Fiber Arts BFL Sport: 8 oz 226 g/661 yds 604 m
Saffron Surprise (honey; MC)* 2 skeins
Chestnutty (brown; CC1)* 1 (1, 2, 2, 2, 2) skeins
Harriet (cream; CC2) 1 skein
Mossay (green; CC3) 1 skein

  • Purchase extra yarn in MC and CC1 if you plan to lengthen your garment.
