Queen Elizabeth's Hat
Emulate the Grande Dame of Britain with this classic hat.
Choose a flat or rounded brim.
Pattern includes unisex sizing from a Child’s Small up to Adult X-Large.
You will be knitting with two strands of yarn throughout.
For a pronounced halo effect, a Mohair lace-weight like Rowan Kid Silk Haze works best.
Models knit with one strand of feltable wool yarn and one strand of a luxury lace weight yarn.
For a thicker hat, use a chunky yarn instead of worsted-weight.
For quicker and more complete felting, use a roving style yarn such as Patons Classic Roving.
Add bling with Patons Lace yarn with Sequins.
Suggested yarns:
Patons Classic Worsted wool
Patons Classic Roving
Plymouth Galway Worsted
Plymouth Galway Chunky
combined with
Patons Lace or Sequin Lace Mohair/Acrylic blend
Kraemer “Fountain Hill” Mohair/Acrylic blend
Plymouth Kid Gloss
Rowan Kid Silk
