This scarf pattern has a single-thread “X” pattern, and is much easier and much faster than my similar “Bejeweled Scarf” pattern with a double-thread “X” pattern.

It also includes photo instructions and explains how to modify the width, if desired.

Using all Merino wool, it makes a velvety, delicious scarf for which you can use countless color combinations, one being the foreground, and the other being the background. Once you get the hang of it, it is fast and easy because it has a lot of slipped stitches, and the pattern is a repetition of just 8 rows. You can look like an expert while knitting a pretty simple design. When you finish your first row of “X’s” you will see it is magic!

You will be working with 2 skeins of the same color at the same time for each border side and foreground (diamonds), and one more skein, at the same time, for knitting the background color. So you will be untangling the skeins when you turn the work over, but center-pull skeins makes it easy.

A bonus pattern is included (the purple and white one shown over the white turtle neck in the photo). The purple one has a 4-stitch border and has thicker yarn.
