This design was inspired by Herbert Niebling’s pattern for Rosenkonigin round tablecloth found in the vintage Meyers Strickschrift, 1401 Pamphlet published in June 1950.

Queen of Roses is worked top-down beginning from the center back of the neck.

Because of its shape (4/6 of a circle), this shawl fits neatly over the shoulders.
You can also knit a half-circle shawl, instructions included.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: approx. 200 cm 79″ along the wingspan and 100 cm 39″ depth; measured after wet blocking.

Finished size depends on yarn choice, needle size, and your individual manner of knitting. The gauge is not crucially important but will affect the finished shawl size and yardage requirements.

MATERIALS USED: - Alize Kid Royal (62% mohair, 38% polyamide; 250 273 yds / 25 g. The sample shown used about 1250 m 1367 yds of yarn.

• Size 2.0 mm US 0 circular needles;

• Size 2.0 mm crochet hook.

You will also need stitch markers to outline repeats, and a tapestry needle to weave in ends.

The pattern includes charts and all necessary knitting instructions. All charts show only the right-side rows. On the wrong-side rows, all stitches are worked as they appear except for the edge stitches.
