Queen of Shamakha is a character of the fairy tale in verse by Alexander Pushkin, “The Tale of the Golden Cockerel” (1835).

Shawl “Queen of Shamakha” is worked top down and has a semicircular shape.
Yarn used: Cotton Hemp Pekhorka Yarn, 280 meters (306 yards) / 50 grams (70% cotton, 30% hemp).
The sample required 114 g (640 m / 700 yds) of yarn.

Skill level: medium

Techniques used: knit and purl, yarn over, k2tog, ssk, psso, k3tog (with central stitch on top), 1/1 left cross, 1/1 right cross, 2/2 left cross, 2/2 right cross and others.
The finished size of the shawl will depend on the yarn weight, needle size and your individual gauge.
