The Queen of Sheba could be thought of as the original “Spice Woman”. In search of wisdom and truth, she brought spices and other treasures to King Solomon of Israel who was known as a very wise man.
The sample is made in Malabrigo Mechita in colors Paprika and Paris Night, the combination of which is regal and spicy, just like the original Bible story and all the various legends that are told about this early Queen. I hope the design of this shawl does her justice.
The shawl is worked end-to-end in two-color brioche stitch and the size is easily adjustable by working fewer or more repeats. Choose colors with a strong contrast for best results.
Wrap and drape this squishy brioche around your neck, roll the collar and secure with a shawl pin or even sew an invisible snap or two on the edge if that’s your preferred way of wearing it.
This is an excellent pattern for those with some brioche experience. Skills used are two-color brioche including increase and decrease stitches. Links to tutorials are included in the pattern. The first two repeats take a bit of concentration and then it falls into a soothing rhythm.
The instructions are both written and charted and the pattern has been professionally tech edited and tested.
SIZE
22 inches/56cm deep at point and 54 inches/137cm wide. Size is adjustable by adding or substracting pattern repeats.
