Queens' Favors
by Roza Anthony
Have you ever seen a photo of someone wearing what looks like a loop of fabric on their belt in old paintings? Or read about a knight wearing a lady’s favor? Here’s how to make a favor, using one for the SCA as an example.
The pattern assumes knowledge of linen stitch in knitting and intarsia. The bottom of the pattern is knitted double wide, and when the design is done, the work is folded in half, seamed, and then the top is continued in plain linen stitch.
The recipe can also be used for any graphic knitting for fairly simple shapes.
