This pattern is 10 pages long and contains loads of photos to guide you through each step of the process. The pattern is written using US crochet terms.

I use Patons Smoothie DK yarn, 9mm safety eyes and a 4mm hook which makes a guardsman that is approximately 17cm tall. You can of course use a yarn & hook size of your choice - you will need yarn in red, black, pink and brown as well as very small amounts of white and yellow.

To make the hat fluffy, I used Sirdar Alpine Luxe Fur Effect yarn. This step is optional and the hat can be left plain if preferred.
