Queer Pride Flag Cowls
100% of sales of this pattern will be donated to organizations that benefit LGBTQ+ people, with an emphasis on organizations that benefit trans BIPOC. In the past we’ve donated to The Trevor Project and The Marsha P. Johnson Institute
Jocelyn made the original concept for this design, and Claire looked at it and thought “this would be perfect for Pride flags”! Claire made a basic six-stripe version of the rainbow Pride flag for a silent auction for their choir, Philadelphia Voices of Pride. After that, Claire was hooked, and worked through the numbers for three- to seven-stripe Pride flags while knitting six additional samples. The samples that Claire knit were chosen to show a variety of Pride flags that O-Wool has the colors for, but these patterns can be used with whatever colors you want to create your Pride Flag Cowl. This is sort of a “Choose Your Own Adventure” pattern - we have five different stripe options, and four different sizes that can be achieved by adjusting your gauge. And of
course you can choose the colors that best represent your Pride flag.
SKILLS REQUIRED: knitting, slipping stitches, increasing, decreasing, changing colors
FINISHED SIZES, GAUGE, & NEEDLES: Claire engineered this design so you simply have to adjust your gauge to achieve a different size.
