The Quendale Beach headband and wristlets were designed to complement my prize-winning Quendale Beach Shawlette. Both can be worn either way up. They feature sand, textured with occasional ripples (varying sections of knit and purl stitches), lacy spume and the waves of the sea. The lace pattern is based on Auld Shell. They are worked in the round, apart from the thumb slip section of the wristlets, which is worked to and fro.

I used Spindrift in sand, white, surf, seabright, yell sound blue, peacock, splash, and atlantic. If you’ve knitted the shawlette, you should have enough of all the colours left, but I recommend you get an extra ball of sand (total of three) to be sure. I worked on 3.5mm needles.

The headband measures approx 21” / 53cm round, and the wristlets approx 8” / 20cm. You could vary the sizes a little by using smaller or larger needles.

I hope you enjoy knitting and wearing these pieces of wearable art.
