This classic stockinette raglan features a subtle slip stitch detailing down the front of the body, long sleeves, 2x2 ribbed cuffs, and a crew neckline. Designed with the men in your life in mind, but this simple design can be worn by anyone (and is written for 10 different sizes)! This pattern is set up very similarly to The Other Raglan, and I’ve tried to break everything down from set up to bind off for more beginner levels, while including a few new techniques that I think even some more experienced knitters can learn from (or at least I hope!). I had so much fun designing and working this one up for my brother-in-law, and I hope you will too!

Details:

  • Intermediate level (but beginners welcome!)
  • Written in English and US terms
  • Skills to know: Knit, purl, increase, decrease, work both flat and in the round, backwards loop cast on, pick up and knit stitches, and how to seam if applicable
  • You’ll need: Approx. 1010-2780 yds DK or heavy sport weight yarn that works up to gauge, US size 4 (3.5mm) needles in various circular lengths + DPNs/longer circular needles for magic loop of the same size (or size needed to attain gauge) + needles 1-2 sizes smaller if desired for tighter ribbing, scrap yarn/extra circulars to place stitches on hold, 8 stitch markers, and a tapestry needle

You’ll receive a PDF file including:

  • Complete written instructions on how to knit the Quentin raglan in 10 different sizes, including both seamed and seamless versions. Lots of options to fit your preference as well as opportunities to learn and try new techniques! (23 total pages, including the cover page and shaping charts for all sizes)
  • A breakdown of the raglan set up to help get you get started
  • Increase charts for the yoke so you can track your progress (and stitch counts!)
  • Links to helpful tutorials

Notes on sizing:

This pattern is written for 10 sizes, ranging from 30.25-66.75 in/77-169.5 cm finished bust. It is recommended to choose a size that gives 0-5 in/0-12.5 cm positive ease at the bust. The sweater length is very easily customizable to fit your body and preference!
