Quick and Easy Cushion
Crocheted cushion with a flower design. Finished size: approximately 17 inches in diameter. No gauge is given. Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, double crochet, increase by dc’ing 2x in one stitch.
16 petals in alternating colours, 16 small triangular inserts and a center circle are crocheted separately, then stitched together and embroidered with petal “veins” in Roumanian stitch. It is then finished with a crocheted border and sewn to the back of the cushion (fabric) with a cushion pad inside.
N.B. the pattern says to make 12 petals and inserts, but the photo clearly shows 16, which is the geometrically correct number to make the petals form a circle.
Materials: 6 ozs. Patons Double Quick Knitting (2 ozs. each Coraline 6165, Pumpkin 3175 and Frosty Green 3164), scrap of brown wool for embroidery, piece of green “crash” fabric 18 in. square, No. 8 (5mm or H) hook.
