An easy to follow knitting pattern for beginners, with clear instructions, photo illustrations and tips.

Sweater is knitted in rib stitch and stocking stitch.

Sweater is knitted bottom up on circular and straight 7 mm needles.

Pattern is available in one size, L / XL, which would be a perfect fit for UK size 16 / 18 or US 12 / 14.

The sweater is moderately oversized and is a boxy shape.

A total of 2500 meters of yarn is needed for this sweater. This pattern uses Drops Kidsilk yarn - 12 balls in all.

Each ball of Drops Kidsilk yarn weighs 25 grams and measures 210 meters. It is a lovely, soft yarn and is extremely good value.

The pattern uses 7 balls of Drops Kidsilk yarn in no. 13 pink colour, and 5 balls of Drops Kidsilk yarn in no. 14 red colour.

Other similar weight silk / mohair yarns could be substituted.

The sweater measures 65 cm across the chest, when measured flat, and 66 cm in length. The sleeves are 47 cm long.

Knitting tension is 15 stitches and 19 rows / 10 x 10 cm square, knitted in stocking stitch on 7 mm needles.

All dimensions given in the pattern are metric
