Quick Hudson Bay Mitts
Need to knit something at the last minute?! This is your project!
I’d like to offer this FREE knitting pattern in case you need a last minute idea! These cozy gloves knit up so quickly!! A determined knitter could knit these in an hour. Seriously.
The colors of the iconic Hudson Bay stripes remind me of Lifesavers candy and Christmas Lights :)
Materials:
One skein of Super-Bulky Lion Brand Thick & Quick Yarn (I used the Hudson Bay colorway)
Size US 13 / 9 mm DPN’s or Circular Needles if using Magic Loop Method (which I highly recommend for speed!)
Scrap yarn or stitch holder.
Tapestry Needle
That’s it!
Note: All slip stitches should be made purl-wise (excluding SSK’s). The slip stitches allow the purl rows to not have a “jog” in the line. You can also use this for color changes in knitting. Yay for techniques!
Techniques:
Knit, Purl, Slip
Magic Loop or Double Pointed Needles
Invisible Join in Round
KRL, & KLL (Lifted Increases)
K2Tog and SSK (Mirrored Decreases)
Ktbl
CO in middle of row.
Picking up Gusset stitches
BO in pattern
