Quick Knit One-Ball Lace Jumper A La Rus
This is another ‘quick-knit’ sweater made from a single 400g ball of Aran-weight (8wpi) yarn, e.g. 25% Wool, 75% Acrylic. It’s knitted seamlessly in the round leaving only a few yarns to weave in and two arm holes to stitch up for finishing.
The basic pattern has been adapted from a fabulous pattern I found on a Russian knitting stitch website although I believe it was originally published in a Japanese book.
It is only a 6-row repeat, yet it creates wonderful swirly vertical panels and a lovely wavy edge. This pattern is quite elastic and thus very suitable for a jumper which is fitted to ‘hug’ the body. For that reason, the body is relatively short, avoiding the hip area.
