Quick, Quick Cowl
My Quick, Quick, Cowl was designed for Shetland Wool Week
2024 as an introductory class to lace knitting for those who perhaps haven’t tried it before. Or for those, who like me, haven’t got the time or the patience for superfine yarn!
With only a few rounds, chunky yarn and fat needles you should have this cowl finished in no time!
Quick, Quick Cowl
Jamieson’s of Shetland Chunky Marl (120m/100g) x 1
ball of the following:
Oceanic 692
If you use the same shade and gauge is met there will be
sufficient yarn to make 3 cowls in just two balls.
1 x 6.5mm/60cm circular needle for small cowl
(or preferred method for working in the round)
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Stitch markers
Wool wash for dressing garment
Gauge is not vital although you may find you need
more/less yarn should gauge not be met. Use a 6.5mm
needle as starting point for checking gauge and adjust
needle size accordingly.
15st (1 pattern repeat) to 12.5cm/5” after washing and
blocking.
Your cowl should be approximately 62.5cm/25”
circumference and 20cm/8”deep on completion
