Slub yarn is an undeniable trend, and why not? Its soft, textural quality feels luxuriously cozy to knit with and to wear. This hat and fingerless mitts set plays up the texture of the slub. It’s an easy, mindful knitting project, finished quickly, with just enough change in stitch pattern to keep you engaged while letting you binge a great show or listen to an audiobook while knitting. Best of all, one skein will make both the hat and the mitts, and with a few extra skeins of slub, you can make matching sets for friends and family!

Notions: In addition to size 1 (2.25mm) and 2 (2.75mm) needles in 16” and 32” (or DPNs), you will need a tapestry needle and stitch markers.

The completed hat measures 8.5” (22cm) tall with a 16” (41cm) circumference. This yarn is quite stretchy, and this comfortably fits a 22” circumference head. I also include tips on making it larger or smaller if desired.

The mitts measure 8” (20cm) tall with a 7” (18cm) circumference and are, again, quite stretchy, fitting a wide variety of sizes if knit in the recommended yarn. Your mileage may vary when substituting yarn.
