Sunrise is like a liminal space in time. The sun peeks over the horizon, but a hush still lays over the landscape. Gentle pinks and blues grace the sky, slowly drawing us out of sleep and preparing for the day. The Quiet Sunrise socks use simple colourwork to draw on the in between time of early morning, when those first shades appear in the sky to dye the clouds in pastel tones.

Sizes
There are four sizes in the pattern: 1 (18cm foot circumference), 2 (20cm foot circumference), 3 (22.5cm foot circumference), and 4 (25cm foot circumference). Note that the sizes listed are measured around the sock, so find your size by measuring your foot and then subtracting 10%.

Yarn and Yardage
This pattern begins with one colour at the cuff and blurs into another at the bottom. Choose two similar colours for a blending effect, or two very different colours for a striking striped version. Approximately 160 - 250 yards are needed, with C1 needing 130 - 190 yards and C2 needing 40 - 60 yards.

Notions
Knitting needles (DPNs or circulars), stitch markers, darning needle, and sock blockers.

Techniques
This pattern is suitable for knitters who are familiar with cuff down, in the round, heel flap and gusset sock construction. Basic knowledge of stranded colourwork is also needed. The colourwork chart is both written and charted.
