Quilted Lattice Cowl
This cowl was totally inspired by Purl Soho’s Trellis Scarf. I wanted to make a cowl version of the scarf and needed to use a different yarn to make it.
I wouldn’t usually publish a separate pattern for something that I made that is SO close to the original pattern that inspired it, but I’ve had many requests to write it up, so here it is!
You only need 2 skeins of Malabrigo’s lovely soft Merino Worsted to make this quite generously sized cowl and whilst the stitch pattern is pretty repetitive, over the many times I’ve made this cowl, I’ve never got bored with it, it’s really quite an enjoyable knit.
If you have any difficulty getting your head around the stitch pattern, you’ll find a little photo tutorial for it on my blog here: http://www.thecrimsonrabbit.co.uk/2015/11/08/my-knitting-....
If you’re not comfortable with a provisional cast on and / or grafting the ends together with the Kitchener stitch, you can still make this cowl - just seam the ends together or maybe do a three needle bind off.
Happy knitting!
