Quilters Delight Wrist Warmers
This is a pair of fairisle wrist warmers on a stash busting, quilting theme, to accompany the matching Hat.
Buy both the Hat and the Wrist Warmers patterns and receive approx. 20% discount. No code needed, discount will be calculated automatically. (If you are not a Ravelry member, be sure you put both patterns in your basket before you check out. If you are a member, previous purchases should be recognised.)
Materials
I used one colour for the background (approx. 30g) and lots of scraps for all the colours, only using around 2.5gm each of most colours.
(The exact colours I have used in my sample are listed here .)
Size
Made to fit a standard adult female hand, approx. 7.5” round, the wrist warmers are approx. 8.75” long.
Once upon a time I was a quilter and would spend many hours cutting up perfectly good fabric, then stitching it together again! Some of my favourite quilting patterns were flying geese, pinwheels and stars, all of which feature on the wrist warmers.
You can use all your little scraps - do you only have enough of a colour for one or two rows? Or enough for 8 or 10 rows? The most I used for any contrast colour was 3.5 grams for the centres of the stars.
I found a colour wheel to be a really handy tool for putting those scraps together - you can easily find one to download online. I went for contrasting colours to make them really pop - but was careful to keep them roughly the same value (light or dark).
With the constantly changing patterns and colours you won’t want to stop knitting and you’ll be finished before you know it!
When you’re done, please come back and create a Ravelry project for your wrist warmers and link it to the pattern so I can see and enjoy it too!!
Happy knitting!
