Rabbit Rug
The whole rug is worked in garter stitch (knit every row), which gives it added texture, as well as ensuring that the edges do not curl.
Experiment with gauge! A looser gauge will produce a bunny that is more suited to a blanket or bed covering, while a tighter gauge will produce a bunny that is more suited to a rug.
As well, experiment with different types, brands, and weights of yarn. I usually knit the bunny rugs with 2 strands of yarn – two strands worsted weight in the same colour. I have knit a bunny with 3 strands, which resulted in a slightly larger, but much more plush, bunny.
Using the gauge provided, the finished rug will be about 30 inches long (from the tip of the front paws to the tip of the back paws), with about 14 inches across in the belly section.
